The Mini Games

The Mini Games is a great event for primary children in the boroughs of London. It was held yesterday at Crystal Palace, a day event, and was an amazing experience for all that took part. Bexley took part in almost all the events; tag rugby, athletics, football, hockey, netball, swimming and basketball! All the teams did very well and the Bexley Tag Rugby team came first place! An excellent day was had by all.

Thoughts of the day, according to a few Bexley team members;

“Tag rugby is tiring, but really fun. It keeps me amused and today was a good experience.”

Ellie Walker- Tag Rugby

“It’s been very well organised. The event is a fantastic experience for the kids and there is a brilliant atmosphere. It’s very enjoyable for all taking part.”

Kat Lambert- Team Manager of Netball

“It’s been very nerve racking, but in other terms it’s been a really good day and a really good experience, I’ve had fun.”

Angus Gunn- Swimming

“It’s been really exciting, sometimes we’ve been nervous but it’s still enjoyable. A great experience. The opening ceremony bollywood dancing was fun too.”

Macey, Dalu, Fionnuala, Charlie- Athletics

“It’s been tough, but also exciting. There are teams that are very fast, but we are going to keep going. We’ve got some fast players and I think we are going to do well.”

Joshua Olusejun- Athletics

“It’s good taking part, it’s really fun. It doesn’t matter if we win, lose or draw because we’ve had fun.”

Sam Tingney- Netball

“The Mini Games is really good, it’s my first time here and it shocked me because it’s so huge.”

Tolu Ajet- Hockey

“I think it’s one of the best youth events in the country. I think getting children involved from this age is brilliant.”
